HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's volleyball maintained its number two in the nation ranking, while field hockey dropped off of the top 20 poll, when each sport's national poll was released on Tuesday.

Women's volleyball (14-1) remains at second with 576 points in the AVCA Division III Top 25 coaches poll, following number one Washington University-St. Louis with 600 points and an undefeated record with 14 games.

Emory University remains third in the rankings with 517 points, followed by Wittenberg University (496 points) and Eastern University (456). Christopher Newport University (441) and Colorado College (441) tied for sixth. Carthage College (423), Calvin College (414) and Wisconsin-Oshkosh (380) finished in the top ten.

In field hockey, Juniata (7-3) fell from their 18th ranked spot last week. Salisbury University (872 points),Tufts University (864) and Messiah College (855) took the lead. Lebanon Valley College (797)
and Ursinus College (786) were bumped to fourth and fifth. Bowdoin College (638) and SUNY Cortland (621) took sixth and seventh, while Christopher Newport University (580), Eastern University (566) and Skidmore College (450) made the top ten.

Juniata field hockey travels to Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pa. this Thursday, Sept. 30, at 7:30 pm. Juniata women's volleyball will host Elizabethtown College for their annual "Dig Pink" breast cancer awareness night this Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
