WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Juniata College sophomore Stacie Beegle (Schellsburg, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) posted the Eagles' lone win as Juniata women's tennis dropped an 8-1 decision to Lycoming College, Tuesday afternoon in Williamsport, Pa.

Beegle recorded a 6-4, 6-2 win over Lycoming's Linda Fogg at no. 3 singles. Beegle and partner Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) fell to Fogg and Rebecca Reynolds earlier in the day, 8-6, in a no. 2 doubles match.

Juniata threatened to take the no. 1 and no. 4 singles matches against the Warriors. Katie Healy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) and Lyco's Megan Gardner split the first two sets of their no. 1 singles match, both in tiebreakers, before Gardner triumphed in the super-tiebreaker. Set scores were 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (4-7), 10-7.

In the no. 4 singles match, Perow took the first set 6-1, before Lycoming's Reynolds rebounded to win the next two sets, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

Juniata returns to the courts on October 1, when it hosts Washington & Jefferson College at 3:30 p.m. on the Raffensperger Tennis Courts.
