HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College senior libero Megan Sollenberger (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was named the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete in women's volleyball, it was announced Wednesday by the Landmark Conference.

Sollenberger, a three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American, was a three-time Landmark Women's Volleyball Specialist of the Year and the league's Player of the Year this past season. She holds Juniata's career digs record with 2,839, including two of the top three single season digs totals in program history. Sollenberger earned NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball All-Tournament honors at the Mid-Atlantic Regional hosted by Juniata in both 2008 and 2009.

Juniata reached the "final four" round of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship during all four seasons Sollenberger wore the blue and gold - including the program's second national championship in 2006 and it's eighth national championship match appearance in 2009.

Academically, the three-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll selection earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors this past season, and will complete her degree in finance in May 2010. She was named to Juniata's Dean's List in the Fall 2007 and Spring 2009 semesters, and has interned with Juniata's Accounting Office.

Sollenberger is a member of the Tau Pi Phi business honor society, and has served as an assistant coordinator for the Pennsylvania Special Olympics events hosted by Juniata College.

The Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete awards are the conference's highest recognition for athletic achievement coupled with academic excellence. One Senior Scholar-Athlete is chosen in each sport - a total of 20 each academic year - with a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, and sports information directors selecting the recipients. Honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher, and are selected based on their accomplishments in all areas of college life: athletics, academics, and other extracurricular activities.

Sollenberger is the fourth Juniata student-athlete to be recognized as a Senior Scholar-Athlete since the Landmark Conference began competition in August 2007. A complete list of Juniata's Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athletes is below:
