LANCASTER, Pa. - The Juniata College womens' swimming team earned 26 points on the first day of the two day event at the Franklin and Marshall College Invitational, on Saturday.

The team earned eight points in 200-yard freestyle relay in the first event of the afternoon with a time of 1:55.49 in the finals heat. They also earned eight points with a time of 2:12.57 in the 200-yard medley relay.

To complete the team scoring for the day, they received 10 points in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 9:33.65.

The top individual finish for the Eagles was freshman Melissa Bresnahan (Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield East) who placed 26th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:09.68 in the final heat.

Sophomore Lindsay Cooper (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) had a 27th place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke event with a time of 1:14.98 in the finals heat, almost two seconds faster than her preliminary heat.

Cooper was also clocked at 26.71 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle race; good enough for a 29th place finish.

The invitational concludes on Sunday, Dec. 6, starting at 10 a.m.
