HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College senior cornerback Kyle McKechnie (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) has been named the Centennial Conference football's Defensive Player of the Week, when the Centennial's list of weekly honorees was released Sunday morning.

McKechnie led the Juniata defense with 13 tackles, including five unassisted stops, in Juniata's 10-3 victory over Moravian College, Saturday afternoon at Rocco Calvo Field in Bethlehem, Pa. The 13 tackles was the most by any Juniata player in a game this season.

McKechnie, who was a tailback for the Eagles during his sophomore and junior seasons, recorded his second career interception against the Greyhounds with a pick of a Steve Panasuk pass at the Moravian 34 on the first play of the fourth quarter.

Juniata (1-7, 1-5 Centennial) will be at home this Saturday, Oct. 31, hosting Johns Hopkins University as part of Juniata's Homecoming and Family Weekend festivities. The Juniata-Johns Hopkins game will also be 'senior day' for Juniata football.
