HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata College field hockey team locked up the number one seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference Playoffs over the weekend, but fell two spots in this week's Kookaburra/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll.

Beginning the week, the Eagles fell to Alvernia University 1-0, ending their nine game winning streak. But they came back on Saturday, Oct. 17, and defeated Drew University, 2-1, to extend their conference record to 5-0, setting up home field advantage throughout the conference playoffs.

The 1-1 week puts Juniata's record at 12-3 overall but saw them fall from the 17 spot down to no. 19 this week.

Messiah College remains in first with a perfect 13-0 record and 44 first place votes. Salisbury University sits still in second while the third through fifth spots were shuffled around. Ursinus College climbed a spot to third, while Trinity College (CT) moved up one to number four. Tufts University rounds out the top five after dropping two spots.

The Eagles hit the road today for a nonconference matchup with Wesley College (Del.) at 7:00 pm.
