HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Sophomore Caitlyn Bowman (Seven Valleys, Pa./Dallastown) tallied a goal and an assist to lead the Eagles past Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference field hockey action on Wednesday afternoon.

In its first game since being ranks no. 18 in this week's Kookaburra/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll, Juniata (10-2, 2-0) came out on fire as junior Paula Price (Camp Hill, Pa./East Pennsboro) scored 4:54 into the contest. Price received a centered ball from Bowman and beat Crusader goaltender Erin Ferguson for the game-winner.

The game remained at 1-0 until the 34th minute when Bowman, collected a rebound off the pads of Ferguson and put the ball into the back of the cage for the final goal of the afternoon and a 2-0 victory.

Senior goalkeeper Denalyn Spratt (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) extended her goalless streak to 265:25 minutes, stopping two shots in 70 minutes of action. Helping to preserve the team's third straight shutout was sophomore Meghan McGlone (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) who recorded five defensive saves. Ferguson finished with seven saves in 70 minutes of work for the Crusaders.

The Eagles outshot Susquehanna (4-8, 1-2) for the game 20-9 while out cornering them 12-11 as well.

Juniata returns to the field when it takes on its arch rival Catholic University on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. for "Senior Day".
