MIDDLETOWN, Pa. â?" Junior forwards Erin Eddinger (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) and Katie Young (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) each scored once as Juniata College blanked Penn State Harrisburg, 2-0, in women's soccer action Tuesday night in Middletown, Pa.

Eddinger scored Juniata's first goal, her second of the season, in the game's 29th minute to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead at the break.

The scoring sequence began with Aimee Radic (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon Area) controlling the ball along the endline, eventually drawing Lions keeper Brittany Adams to the near post. Radic then centered the ball to Eddinger near the penalty spot, and Eddinger finished to put the Eagles into the lead.

Young added her insurance goal in the 82nd minute, taking advantage of a loose ball in front of the PSU Harrisburg goal. Adams made a play in the air on a Juniata cross into the box, but lost control of the ball as she came down to the ground. Young was following on the play, and buried the loose ball into the Lions goal.

Juniata outshot Penn State Harrisburg 22-10, and had six corner kicks to the Lions' one.

Eagle keeper Lauren Auster-Gussman (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) recorded two saves over her 85 minutes in the Juniata goal, with freshman Gabrielle Ricciardi (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) finishing the game's final five minutes and making one stop. Adams tallied 11 saves over 90 minutes in the Penn State Harrisburg goal.

Juniata returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 26, when it hosts Goucher College in the squad's Landmark Conference opener.
