HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata's Beta Beta Beta Honor Society will host the college's fifth annual campus-wide research symposium on April 5 and 6. A total of 36 research presentations will be made from students across a variety of academic disciplines. The research projects were all conducted through cooperative research with faculty members during the course of the 2001-2002 academic year.

The research symposium is free of charge and open to the public.
On Friday, April 5, oral presentations will run from noon to 5 p.m. in Rooms A201 and B200 in the Brumbaugh Science Center on the Juniata College campus. On Saturday, April 6, oral presentations will continue in Room B200 from 9 to 11 a.m. There are 22 oral presentations scheduled over both days.

A poster presentation is scheduled for Saturday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. in the Tussey-Terrace Lounge. The presentations are organized in three categories: environmental science, chemistry/physics, and biology/psychology. There are 14 poster presentations.

Tri-Beta, the honorary society for biology, has organized the exhibit to highlight the quality of student research at Juniata. There are about 60 members in the Juniata College chapter of Beta Beta Beta. The William J. von Liebig Foundation sponsors the event.

An additional goal of the symposium is to increase awareness of the research opportunities at Juniata to the alumni, prospective students, and the public at large.
