HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Juniata College women's tennis team had some close matches in singles play, but not close enough to get the points as the Eagles were shutout by Olivet College (Mich.), 9-0, Tuesday morning in Hilton Head, S.C.

Juniata's closest match of the day was played by junior Amanda Fontana (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity), who dropped a 6-3, 5-7, 10-7 decision at no. 1 singles to Olivet's Jaclyn Mummaw. Fellow junior Maggie Wolenter (Audubon, N.J./Audubon) also played an evenly fought match at no. 3 singles, before falling 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 to the Comets' Celeste Gruber.

The Eagles dropped all three doubles matches, with the closest match coming at no. 1 doubles where the pairing of Katie Healy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) and Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) dropped an 8-5 decision to Mummaw and Giana Guerra.

Juniata (3-3) will face Emory & Henry College (Va.) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday night in Hilton Head, S.C.
