HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Fourth-seeded Juniata College was eliminated from the Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Tournament with a 2-0 loss to Moravian College, in a semifinal match on Wednesday in Bethlehem, Pa.

The loss ended Juniata's second trip to the Landmark Conference tournament in as many seasons, and dropped the Eagles' record to 9-6-1 overall. Moravian (13-5-2) advances to Saturday's championship match against Catholic University, who defeated the University of Scranton 1-0 in the other semifinal contest.

Juniata will now wait to see if it earns a berth in the ECAC South Region Tournament, which begins next week. The ECAC selection committee will announce its choices for the four-team ECAC South tourney on the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 10.

Moravian got on the scoreboard in the 16th minute, when Alessandra Valdetara scored from eight yards out off a long pass from Tracy Fitzpatrick.

The Greyhounds doubled their lead in the 63rd minute, when Arielle Caldas finished a one-touch pass from Fitzpatrick to score her 10th goal of the season.

Juniata keeper Lauren Auster-Gussman (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) made five saves on seven shots on goal, while Moravian's Caitlin Corrigan recorded six saves in the Greyhound goal on her way to the shutout victory.

Moravian outshot Juniata 15-12, and had a 10-4 advantage in corner kicks.
