HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's volleyball team retained its number one ranking despite suffering its first loss of the season, according to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III coaches poll, released on Tuesday.

Juniata (13-1, 3-0 Landmark) captured all 24 first-place votes, and sits atop the poll with 600 points.

The top four in the poll remained unchanged, with Emory (568 pts.) placing second in the poll, followed by La Verne (546 pts>), and Washington-St. Louis (533 pts.).

Juniata will put its 13-1 record on the line four times this week, beginning with Thursday night's game at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. This Saturday and Sunday, the Eagles will travel to Kings Point, N.Y., to face the University of Scranton, Moravian College, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy in the second of two Landmark Conference round robin weekends.
