Women's soccer at McDaniel cancelled due to lightning

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Juniata College's women's soccer game against McDaniel College on Tuesday in Westminster, Md., was suspended due to lightning and then canceled.
The contest was tied 1-1 in the 54th minute at approximately 5:10 p.m., when lightning forced both teams to seek cover. At approximately 6:30 p.m., the decision was made to cancel the game. The contest will not be replayed.
Erin Eddinger (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) scored the lone Juniata goal, with an assist by Katie Young (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area), but no statistics from the game will count.
Juniata returns to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 4, when it hosts Catholic University in a Landmark Conference match at 1:00 p.m. on Winton Hill Field.
