HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Field hockey forward Paula Price (Camp Hill, Pa./East Pennsboro) and football quarterback Jay Leonard (Newville, Pa./Big Spring) have been named Juniata College's Athletes of the Week, for the week ending September 21, 2008.

Price scored twice in Juniata's 3-2 win over York College last Tuesday, Sept. 16, helping the Eagles snap a six-game winless streak. She scored both her goals in the second half, breaking a 1-1 halftime tie, and notched what proved to be the game winner with 17:25 remaining in the game.

The Eagle field hockey squad opens Landmark Conference play this Saturday, Sept. 27, at Moravian College.

Leonard completed 22 of 54 passing attempts for 212 yards, the 18th 200-yard passing performance of his career. That total gave Leonard 6,305 yards passing for his career, setting a new Juniata career passing record by eclipsing the old mark of 6,215 yards held by Greg Troutman (2001-04). Leonard needs another 13 pass completions to break Troutman's career completions record as well.

Juniata plays its first Centennial Conference road game of the season this Saturday, when it faces Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa.

Previous Juniata College Athletes of the Week:
