HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College slipped to second place in updated Landmark Conference All-Sport Trophy standings, which include the results of the league's winter championships, and were released Wednesday.

The University of Scranton, which won conference titles in three of the four sports it sponsors during the winter season, jumped ahead of Juniata College in the All-Sport Trophy standings with 7.28 points.

Juniata posted second-place finishes in the regular season standings for both men's and women's basketball, and advanced to the tournament championship game in both sports. The Eagles also added third-place finishes in both men's and women's indoor track and field, and finished the winter with 6.59 points.

Trailing Juniata in the All-Sport Trophy standings are Moravian College with 6.55 points, followed by Susquehanna University with 5.95 points. Catholic University, United States Merchant Marine Academy, Drew University, and Goucher College round out the list.

"Our winter sport student-athletes have continued with the success begun during the fall season, and have helped make the 2007-08 athletic year among the most successful in Juniata College history. I congratulate the student-athletes and their coaches for their commitment and effort on behalf of Juniata College," said Larry Bock, Juniata's director of athletics.

Under the Landmark Conference's point system for the All-Sport Trophy, an institution earns points for its regular season finish as well as Landmark Conference post-season victories. The accumulated points are then divided by the number of sports in which an institution competed in Landmark Conference play, to account for the different sport offerings of each member school.
