HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Senior first basemen Dan Kauffman (Conestoga, Pa./Penn Manor) has claimed Landmark Conference Baseball Player of the Week honors, for the week of March 10, 2008.

Kauffman totaled seven hits, six of which were for extra bases, in the last part of Juniata's spring break trip. He finished the week batting .700 at the plate (7-for-10), including three home runs, one triple, two doubles and five RBI. With 20 total bases at his 10 at bats, he amassed a 2.000 slugging percentage and a .833 on base percentage and leads the league with an overall slugging percentage of 1.444. He is currently leading the conference in seven other categories: home runs (4), total bases (26), walks (13), fielding percentage (1.000), chances (46), putouts (63), and fielding double plays (6).

The Eagles are currently holding a 1-6 record, including five by one run. Juniata continues competition this weekend when they travel to Washington, D.C., to face Landmark Conference foe Catholic University of America. The Eagles and the Cardinals will hold a double header on Saturday and a single game on Sunday afternoon.
