HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Senior Dave Reddick (North Hills/Pittsburgh), a forward on the men's basketball team, and senior forward Brandy Preslovich (Bald Eagle Area/Moshannon) of the women's basketball team, were named the Juniata College "Athletes of the Month" for December.

Reddick has been a strong performer for the Eagles during the 2001-02 season. He started the month with a visit to Grove City where he posted nine points, four rebounds and two steals on the first of the month. On December 5 at Messiah, he tallied 20 points. Reddick converted 7 of 11 field goals and connected on six of nine tosses from the free-throw line against the Falcons and had three rebounds. While hosting conference rival Widener on December 8, Reddick tallied 14 rebounds and scored eight points on four of seven shooting. During the last game before the semester break against York (Pa.) on December 11, he went 8 of 10 from the floor en route to scoring a total of 21 points. In addition he pulled down 16 rebounds against the Spartans.

For the month, Reddick posted 14.5 points a game and ripped down 9.2 rebounds a contest. In addition, he shot 65.7 percent from the field (23 of 35), while averaging a steal and an assist an outing. Overall for the year, Reddick is third on the team in scoring average (12.1), but leads the unit in rebounds per game (9.7). Juniata is currently 7-4 on the season and will next be in action on Thursday evening at Villa Julie (MD) for a 7:00 p.m. tilt.

Preslovich averaged 18 points, six rebounds, 1.6 assists and one block per game during a seven-contest month for the Eagles. She reached double figures in scoring in all seven outings, shot 49.1 percent from the field (52 of 106) and had one double-double.

She started December with 23 points and 10 rebounds on the first of the month against Delaware Valley at King's College. On December 2 against King's, she recorded a total of 16 points, while grabbing four rebounds and posting two assists and two steals. When the Eagles traveled to Messiah on December 4, Preslovich tallied 17 points and seven rebounds to go along with three blocked shots. On December 8, she scored 20 points against Widener at home and had four steals and three rebounds. Then against Grove City, Preslovich went 7 of 12 from the floor and pulled down eight boards. Preslovich was also two of two from the free throw line and finished the outing with 16 points. During the holiday break the Eagles traveled to the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach, Florida. Preslovich tallied 15 points and six rebounds against Ripon (WI) on December 28, before closing out the month with 19 points and four boards on December 30 versus Carroll (WI).

Preslovich leads the blue and gold in scoring (16.8) and rebounding (7.4) average and has knocked down 46 percent (87 of 188) tries from the field. The Eagle women are currently 5-8 overall and will next be in action on Saturday afternoon against visiting Elizabethtown at 4:00 p.m.
