MADISON, N.J. - Juniata College converted a pair of penalty stroke opportunities for two goals, on its way to a 3-0 win over Drew University, in Landmark Conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon in Madison, N.J. Michelle Campbell (Annville, Pa./Northern Lebanon) scored Juniata's first penalty stroke goal, beating Ranger goalie Stef Rutkowski just three-and-a-half minutes into the game to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. After heading into the intermission with the 1-0 lead, Juniata expanded its lead to 2-0 early in the second half. Heather Hassinger (Middleburg, Pa./Middleburg) scored on a penalty corner 3:07 into the second stanza, with an assist going to Erin Smith (Palmyra, Pa.). Kim Wagner (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) closed out the Juniata scoring with her penalty stroke goal with 11:26 left to play in the game. The 16th-ranked Eagles outshot Drew 17-7, however the Rangers held an 8-7 advantage in penalty corner opportunities. Juniata goalie Denalyn Spratt (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) was credited with three saves in the Eagle goal, while Rutkowski logged nine saves on the day. Juniata has just one day to prepare for its next game, a clash with SUNY Oneonta on Monday, Oct. 8, at Winton Hill Field in Huntingdon. -30-
