HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Dickinson's Matthew Critchlow scored two goals and four other Red Devils chipped in with one goal apiece to lead Dickinson to a 6-0 win over Juniata College, in men's soccer action Wednesday afternoon at Winton Hill Field in Huntingdon. The Eagles (3-8-0, 1-1-0 Landmark) and the Red Devils played a hard-fought battle for over 20 minutes, until Dickinson's John Freed scored in the 24th minute off an assist by Paul Coyle. Cooper Morris put Dickinson up 2-0 with his unassisted goal barely three minutes later, and Critchlow expanded the lead to 3-0 with his first goal of the day in the 31st minute. Critchlow added a second marker in the 40th minute, and Scott Carpenter rounded out Dickinson's first half scoring with a goal in the 42nd minute off an assist from Dale Rodman. Mike Montross closed out the Red Devils' scoring with the lone goal of the second half, an unassisted marker in the 58th minute. Juniata's Ted Sonneborn (Syracuse, N.Y./Manlius Pebble Hill) played the first 45 minutes and allowed five goals while making a pair of saves. Brian Trinclisti (Lewistown, Pa./Lewistown) relieved Sonneborn in the second half, and made one stop while allowing one goal. Dickinson outshot Juniata 12-2, and took five corner kicks to the Eagles' one. Juniata returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 6, when they host Drew University in a Landmark Conference tilt. -30-
