HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The top-ranked Juniata College women's volleyball squad completed a weekend sweep of four Landmark Conference foes with wins over Moravian College and Goucher College, Sunday afternoon at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center in Huntingdon, Pa. The Eagles (16-1, 4-0 Landmark) defeated Moravian, 30-14, 30-12, and 30-20 in a morning session, and then dispatched Goucher College 30-13, 30-15, and 30-16 to close out the day. Junior Amber Thomas (Ephrata, Pa./Conestoga Valley) finished the day with 16 kills, 11 blocks and two blocks. Brittany Carr (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) tallied 14 kills over the two matches, to go with three blocks. Cassie Dickmann (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) finished with a team-high five blocks for the day. Megan Sollenberger (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) had 31 digs, including 20 in the Moravian match alone. Jessica Ritchey (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) logged nine service aces for the day, to go with 11 digs.
The Eagles have a short break, as they will host St. Vincent College in a non-conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center. -30-
