HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata men\'s and women\'s soccer teams split their doubleheader against Case Western Reserve University on Saturday at WInton Hill Field, with the women posting a 1-0 triumph over the Spartans, and the men\'s dropping a 2-0 decision to fifth-ranked Case Western Reserve. Sarah Ruggiero (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) scored the lone Juniata goal for the women in the game\'s fourth minute. Senior Lisa Russo (Haskell, N.J./Lakeland) recorded three saves, as the women\'s team improved their record to 3-1 overall. The men\'s squad failed to score, but held the nationally-ranked Spartans off the scoreboard until the 59th minute, when R.J. French ended the deadlock. French added an insurance goal in the 82nd minute, with an assist to Justin Steggerda. Ted Sonneborn (Syracuse, N.Y./Manlius Pebble Hill) was credited with a pair of saves in 90 minutes in the Eagle goal. The men return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 12, when they head to McDaniel College, while the women face Chatham College in Pittsburgh on Thursday, Sept. 13. -30-
