BALTIMORE, Md. - In a match-up of two teams that will be conference foes next season as part of the Landmark Conference, the Juniata College men\'s tennis team was dealt a 7-2 set-back from Goucher College Tuesday afternoon. Juniata fell to 5-5 with the loss while Goucher closed its season with a mark of 7-9. For just the third time this season Juniata was unable to come away with any points in doubles play which put them in a big hole, and they were unable to rally back despite two wins in singles competition. Casey Chew (Phoenixville/Phoenixville) rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at fifth singles to earn Juniata\'s other point in the match. Several of the other singles matches were close, but did not go Juniata\'s way. Derek Dye (Beall/Frostburg, Md.) pushed his sixth singles match to a third set after dropping the first set, but he eventually fell in a third set tiebreak and suffered a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 set-back. Brandon Long (Lebanon/Lebanon) also dropped a tiebreaker, though his came in the second set as he fell 6-2, 7-6 at third singles. Aaron Rhodes (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) was topped 7-5, 6-4 at fourth singles, and Jonathan Skoner (Central Catholic/Pittsburgh) lost by 6-1, 6-4 scores at first singles. In doubles play the third doubles pairing of Rhodes and Navarro fell by a tight 9-8 margin. Long and Chew fell by an 8-1 score at first doubles and Jau Feixas (University of Barcelona/Barcelona, Spain) and Skoner dropped their second doubles match by a score of 8-3. Juniata will host Gettysburg on Thursday for its final regular season match. ###
