Juniata 3, Richard Stockton 0 POMONA, N.J. - The Juniata College field hockey team got a goal just seconds before intermission and then carried that momentum into the second half where the Eagles added two more scores to post a 3-0 victory over Richard Stockton in non-conference action Saturday afternoon. The victory improved Juniata\'s record to 13-1, while the home team fell to 7-6 with the loss. Despite outshooting the host 10-3 in the first half, Juniata was unable to get on the scoreboard until there were five seconds left in the first half. At that point, Leslie Stern (Red Lion/Felton) converted a Kim Wagner (Middletown/Middletown) assist to give Juniata a 1-0 advantage. Juniata continued to pressure the goal early in the second half, eventually adding to the lead with a goal in the 56th minute. Wagner and Stern reversed roles, this time with Wagner knocking home her 29th goal of the season to put Juniata comfortably in front 2-0. Juniata keeper Abby Funk (Lewisburg/Lewisburg) and the Eagles\' defense insured that would be plenty as she turned away three shots in the match, and Juniata\'s defense limited the home team to just four shots overall. The shutout was Funk\'s ninth of the season. The Eagles capped the scoring with less than two minutes remaining when junior Ashleigh Ehnts (Bishop McDevitt/Glenside) scored an unassisted tally at 68:40 to seal the win. It was the Ehnts\' second goal of the season and gave Juniata its 11th match of the season in which the team has scored at least three goals. Richard Stockton goalie Caitlin Nolan made nine saves in goal as Juniata finished the match with 16 shots. Juniata will be back in action on Thursday with a pivotal conference match on the road against Messiah. ###
