Huntingdon, PA - Juniata College senior basketball player Kristen Kirk (Newport/Newport) has been selected to the MAC Honor Roll for her efforts this past week. Along with Players of the Week for both the Commonwealth and Freedom Conferences, the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Conference names three individuals to the MASCAC Honor Roll. Kirk is the third Juniata women's basketball player to be honored by the conference this season.

Kirk helped Juniata to its second conference win of the season as she matched her career high with 29 points in a win over Lebanon Valley. She was 11-of-17 from the field in the game, while also pulling down a career-best nine rebounds and passing out four assists. Kirk then tossed in a team-high 17 points while adding two rebounds, two assists and two steals against conference foe Moravian. For the week she averaged 23 points, 5.5 rebounds and three assists per game, while shooting 62 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range.

One of Juniata's most consistent offensive players during her career, Kirk has enjoyed a stellar all-around senior season. She is still providing offensive punch as she is averaging 12.2 points per game which ranks second on the team. She has reached double figures in scoring in 11 of Juniata's 19 games, and is shooting 46 percent from the field. Her 25 three pointers are the second most on the team and fourth-most in the conference, and she currently ranks fifth in the conference in three-point field-goal percentage. But along with her scoring, she is leading the team with 51 assists, which is one shy of establishing a new single-season best. She is also second on the team with 29 steals, and her 69 rebounds rank third on the team. Now in her third season as a starter, Kirk is making her mark in the Juniata career record book. She is currently tenth in school history with 937 points which leaves her just 63 points shy of becoming the ninth 1,000-point scorer in the history of the women's basketball program. She has also knocked down 119 three pointers in her career which ranks third in school history, and she is just two triples shy of taking over second place in the program's history.

After earning five wins each of the past two seasons, Kirk has helped the Eagles claim nine victories through 19 games this season, while also besting its conference win total from all of last season. Juniata returns to action on Tuesday night with a conference game at Messiah College.
