Huntingdon, Pa. ? The Juniata College women?s swimming team made its first mark in the victory column in the 2005 season by claiming a 107-95 win over visiting Randolph-Macon College Saturday afternoon in Huntingdon. The Eagles improved to 1-1 in dual-meet action with the non-conference win.

A key race in the victory for Juniata was the 200 breaststroke as the Eagles earned first, second and third-place finishes to provide a big scoring punch. Jenny Bair (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) was the winner in the event, while Carlie Zoubek (Paul IV/Burke, Va.) was second, and Sam Monty (Plattsburgh/Plattsburgh, N.Y.) was third.

Also claiming an individual win was Kasey Brough (Carlisle/Gardners) who placed first in the 400 freestyle. Freshman Kristin Musselman (Central Columbia/Bloomsburg) was also a winner for Juniata as she touched the wall first in the 100 freestyle. Another first-place effort came from Amy Sutherland (Norwich/Norwich, N.Y.) who claimed a victory in the 200 freestyle.

Juniata then secured the victory with a win in the 200 free relay as Musselman, Sutherland, Collin Thompson (Altoona/Altoona) and Amy Hanson (Lancaster Catholic/Elizabethtown) swam to a first-place finish.

The Eagles return to action on November 11 with a home dual-meet against perennial conference power Albright.
