HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Brazilian choir Coronlaine will perform a concert of vocal music by renowned Brazilian composers at Juniata College at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Huntingdon Area High School auditorium in Huntingdon, Pa.

The concert is free and open to the public. The choir also will sing at the mass at 5:30 p.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church is at 6th and Washington streets in Huntingdon.

Coronlaine (pronounced Core-oh-on-line) is a 42-person choir from Salvador, Brazil, led by choral director Cicero Alves Filho. The group collaborated with Juniata's Concert Choir last year, when the student ensemble toured Brazil for its annual spring-break performance tour.

Coronlaine is celebrated throughout Brazil for its innovative vocal arrangements of traditional and popular Brazilian composers such as Caetano Veloso, Rita Lee, Pablo Coast Rasp and Moraes Moreira.

During its visit, the choir also will perform several outreach educational workshops, including a workshop in Johnstown at Westmont Hilltop High School during the morning of Friday, Sept. 9.

The group also will perform a series of concerts throughout central Pennsylvania.

The group will perform at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford, Pa. The concert is free and open to the public.

Coronlaine will finish its mini-tour by performing a concert at Penn State Altoona's Slep Center for the Performing Arts Sunday, Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
