HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Alexander "Sandy" McBride, professor of art at Juniata College since 1970, will be honored at a reception celebrating his decades of service to Juniata and the Huntingdon community at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24 at the Juniata College Museum of Art.

The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

McBride's work is currently on exhibit at the museum in the show "Troy/McBride: Imagined Discoveries," which runs through Feb. 26. The Juniata show also features work by Jack Troy, associate professor of art at Juniata and noted ceramic artist.

Examples of McBride's work are hung throughout the Juniata campus, including a portrait of William J. von Liebig in the foyer of the von Liebig Center for Science. McBride also exhibited some of his work at a one-person show this fall at Elizabethtown College.

McBride has had numerous one-person exhibitions and has been included in many group art exhibits, including shows at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, the Three Rivers Art Festival, Penn State University main campus and Wilkes College.
