Jeff Nicholson has been named an assistant coach for the Juniata College men?s basketball program according to Eagle head coach Greg Curley, who will be entering his first year as the blue and gold mentor this coming season.

?Jeff is going to be an excellent addition to the Juniata men's basketball program and the entire Juniata community,? said Curley. ?He is a hard worker and he is very enthusiastic about the sport of basketball. During his undergraduate days, he volunteered to help coach at his school and that alone shows to me that he is a very dedicated person and one who will be very loyal to Juniata. I am looking forward to working with him.?

Nicholson, who will begin his post on College Hill on August 1, comes to Juniata from East Tennessee State where he received his bachelor of science degree in sports management this past December. During all four of his years as an undergrad, he was a volunteer administrative assistant for the men's basketball program.

He was involved in recruiting, scouting and practice and game-day preparations all four seasons.

In addition, Nicholson worked as an assistant basketball coach for Scottsburg Senior High School in Scottsburg, Indiana.

He will also work as a resident director at Juniata. The Eagles finished the 2000-01 season with an 11-13 overall record, which marked the most wins for the blue and gold program since the 1991-92 unit posted 12 victories (12-13).
